Webflow × Stripe
A sponsorship checkout that builds each Stripe payment from the sponsor's choices.
The challenge
The Top 10 event sells sponsorships in three levels, plus extra tickets that sponsors can add for their team, clients or family. Every sponsor ends up with a different order, and the organizers needed each one paid online with the right items, quantities and total, without building a separate Stripe product for every possible combination or handling payments by hand.
My contribution
Designed and built a four-step sponsorship checkout in Webflow and connected it to Stripe through a Make scenario. Sponsors introduce themselves and their business, pick a sponsorship level, add tickets with quantity controls, and review a summary before paying. I built the scenario that turns each submitted order into a Stripe Checkout Session and sends the sponsor straight to the payment page.
How it works
When the sponsor continues to payment, the site sends the whole order to a custom webhook in Make. The next module makes a POST request to Stripe's /v1/checkout/sessions endpoint, authenticated with the secret key in a Bearer header. The request builds the line items on the fly with price_data: the product name, the unit price in USD and the quantity for the chosen sponsorship level and each ticket type. Stripe returns a Checkout Session, and the final module sends its URL back to the site as the webhook response, so the browser redirects to a secure Stripe payment page that already shows the exact items and total.
A custom order becomes a Stripe checkout
Build the order
Choose a sponsorship level and ticket quantities in Webflow.
Send to Make
A custom webhook receives the selected line items.
Create a Checkout Session
Make calls Stripe with dynamic price_data.
Redirect to payment
The returned session URL opens Stripe-hosted checkout.
The Stripe secret stays in Make. Creating a session does not itself confirm payment.
The checkout flow
Step 1 collects the sponsor's name, business, email, phone, website and a short description. Step 2 shows the three levels, Foundation, Leadership and Executive, each listing its tickets, exposure and exclusives. Step 3 offers Innovator, Elite and VIP dinner tickets at the sponsorship rate, with plus and minus controls for quantity. Step 4 lists every selected item with its amount and the total before the sponsor pays by card through Stripe, with Back buttons on every step.
What it covers
- Four-step checkout designed and built in Webflow
- Three sponsorship levels and three ticket types with quantity controls
- Order summary with line items and total
- Make scenario: custom webhook → Stripe API call → webhook response
- Stripe Checkout Sessions created with dynamic price_data line items
- Secret key kept server-side in Make, never exposed in the browser
- Redirect to the Stripe-hosted payment page

Outcome
Sponsors go from choosing a package to a completed card payment in one flow. Every order becomes its own Stripe Checkout Session with the right items and total, so the organizers manage no product catalog in Stripe and no manual invoices.
