Vertikala
A bilingual one-page site for a rope access company in Split.
The challenge
Vertikala is an industrial rope access company from Split that works on facades, telecom towers, ships and wind farms. It needed a site that wins trust quickly with real photos of its work, reaches both Croatian and international clients, and turns visitors into inspection requests, while the owners can update texts and photos themselves.
My contribution
Built a custom WordPress theme with a one-page landing template: hero, about, services, advantages, a project gallery and contact. All texts in both languages, the hero image, service and advantage photos and every gallery image are editable in the WordPress Customizer, so the client changes content without touching code. I also wrote the language switch, the gallery viewer and the contact form.
How it works
The page switches between Croatian and English instantly in the browser. The theme passes both sets of texts from the Customizer to JavaScript, which swaps every labelled element, gallery title and form placeholder, and remembers the choice for the next visit. The gallery is split into eight categories, such as maintenance, telecommunications, vessels and wind farms. Clicking a category opens a full-screen viewer with arrows, keyboard navigation and a counter. The contact form sends through AJAX with a WordPress nonce, so the visitor gets a confirmation without a page reload and the company receives the inquiry by email.
