MZSS Website
The bilingual website of the Macedonian association of ski resort rescuers.
The challenge
MZSS is the association of ski resort rescuers that I co-founded. It needed a public home that explains who the rescuers are, recruits new volunteers, shows its activity and partners, raises donations, and puts the emergency phone number in front of anyone who has an accident on the slopes, in both Macedonian and English.
My contribution
Designed and built the site in WordPress on Blocksy with custom page templates, in Macedonian with a full English version. It covers the association, its board and members, committees, rules, safety tips, activities and partners, a five-step guide to becoming a member, and a donation page. I also built a member notification center as a custom plugin, so members get association notices in one place on the site.
How it works
The emergency number sits in the top bar of every page and in a dedicated accident call-to-action on the homepage, so it is one tap away on a phone. The membership page walks applicants through the full path, from application and selection to training, the exam and official rescuer status, and shows whether a call for new members is currently open. Every page has an English counterpart linked through a language switch and hreflang tags. The notification center lists notices sent by email or posted as bulletins, lets members filter by unread, email or bulletin, and marks items as read through AJAX with a live unread counter.
Member notices with a live read status
Open the notification center
Members see email notices and posted bulletins.
Filter the notices
Choose unread items, email or bulletin.
Read a notification
Open the information relevant to the member.
Update the read state
AJAX marks items read and updates the unread counter.
The public website separately provides MK/EN information, emergency contacts and the membership guide.

Outcome
A live, bilingual home for the association that recruits volunteers, presents its team and partners and makes help easy to reach. Together with the patrol shift system, it gives MZSS both its public face and its internal tools.
