Mugshot Tattoo
A bilingual website for a Berlin tattoo studio, built to turn visits into tattoo requests.
The challenge
Mugshot Tattoo is a studio in Berlin with more than a dozen resident artists, walk-ins, short-notice bookings, cover-ups and laser removal. Visitors choose a tattoo by artist and by style, so the site had to present every artist properly, make it easy to send a detailed request to the right person, and rank for tattoo searches in Berlin in both German and English.
My contribution
Worked on the site on an Astra child theme with Elementor Pro: web design, frontend development and CMS integration, plus performance and SEO. I built a custom Mugshot Artists plugin that manages the artists and tattoo styles as their own content types, and set up the tattoo request flow that runs through every page.
How it works
Artists and styles are separate content types managed by the plugin. The team page shows every artist with a portrait, a short bio, their styles as tags, and two actions: a full bio page and a request button. Each artist has a profile page with photo, story and Instagram link. The request form collects everything the studio needs to quote: preferred artist, when the client wants to come, body part, width and height in centimetres, colour or black and grey, and a short description, protected from spam with Cloudflare Turnstile and a GDPR consent. A fixed bar with request, email, phone and WhatsApp stays on screen on every page. The site runs in German and English with hreflang tags and structured data.
