Argolight Whitepapers
A custom WordPress plugin for publishing and gating technical whitepapers.
The challenge
Argolight is a French company that makes fluorescent calibration slides for microscopes, and publishes white papers and technical notes for researchers. The marketing team needed to publish new papers without a developer, collect leads in exchange for downloads, and keep track of who downloaded what.
My contribution
Built a custom WordPress plugin for whitepapers: a dedicated custom post type with ACF fields, a responsive archive grid and a single whitepaper template, a frontend form that unlocks the download, and admin-side tracking of submissions. I styled it to match the existing Divi site and optimized it for performance.
How it works
Each whitepaper is its own post with ACF fields for the cover, summary, table of contents and PDF file. The archive shows every paper as a card with its cover and a download button. The single page shows the description and contents next to a form asking for name, email, country and company. When the form is submitted, the plugin records the request for the admin and only then releases the PDF, so every download comes with a lead. Content is shown conditionally depending on which fields are filled in, so papers with less material still look complete.
